Can I buy just the fiberglass window for a used camper?
My husband and I just bought a used Chevy Cheyenne with a neat camper. It has a full rear door that replaces the tailgate and I cant find anything online like it. The forward window to the camper is missing, as is the rear truck window glass. We’d like to close off both but want to be able to see the kids in the camper.
You could always try ordering original replacement or after market parts through your nearest RV dealer…
Or if you are looking for a cheaper solution, you might want to visit your nearest Home Depot, Rona, or Big Box Building Centre with the measurements you need. Most of these places sell plexiglass (transparent plastic or fiberglass sheets), and they will cut it to the measurements you need. It’s cheap & you can order it in different thicknesses.
The only real limitations with plexiglass are that it does yellow over time. After a couple of years, you’ll likely want to replace it yet again. And it’s more flexible than conventional glass, so there can sometimes be a wind-noise factor to contend with, but this is usually easily overcome by purchasing thicker sheets, fitting the sheets properly, and reinforcing if/where necessary.
