To go or not to go…to my cousins wedding?

I grew up in Southern Texas. I was the second born in a long line of nephew’s. I always looked up to my cousin Rey. He was popular, smart, athletic and we got along well. That is, until he hit highschool. I was in 6th grade at the time. Our family decided to go to a highschool football game and he wated to sit in the student section. I wanted to go with him and although he resisted, his father made him take me. The second he found his friends he told me to go and find mine. I was hurt but I found a neighborhood friend to sit with. Many years later our Grand Mother passes away and I asked him to join us (the cousins/ we’re all males) for some drinks and BBQ. He looked me in the eye and said I’ll be there. He never showed up. Flash forward to now 10 yrs later he’s getting married. We never so much as look at each other. I’ve attended just about every family function and he’s never there.
Should I even bother going to his wedding?

No don’t worry about it. Obviously you don’t have a good relationship with each other so I don’t know why you would want to go to his wedding when he has never made any effort with you? Pull one of his his stunts and don’t go! He probably won’t care anyway as he doesn’t seem like a very nice person.

P.S. The past issues may seem trivial to some but these really show what kind of person he is and what he thinks of you. He has never made any effort for you so why do it for him? He doesn’t deserve it in my book. People have to earn and deserve these things and he hasn’t done it for you.
